Streaming Mode Switcher

A button group that lets the host change the session’s streaming orientation (Landscape, Portrait, or Dual). Speakers in a dual-mode session see a related but separate “Preview orientation” switcher with only Landscape and Portrait. It controls their local preview, not the broadcast.

Location

The menu bar at the bottom of the studio (bottom of the editor on mobile, bottom strip on desktop). The switcher is the labelled control for streaming mode.

Labels and availability

  • Label for hosts: “Streaming mode”
  • Label for speakers in dual mode: “Preview orientation”
  • The “Dual Streaming Mode” option appears only when Dual Streaming is available on your account.
  • The whole switcher is disabled while a broadcast is live.
  • Speakers see the “Preview orientation” switcher only when the session is in Dual Streaming Mode.

Options

Landscape

  • Host: sets the session to stream in landscape.
  • Speaker in dual mode: shows the landscape feed in the speaker’s own preview.

Portrait

  • Host: sets the session to stream in portrait.
  • Speaker in dual mode: shows the portrait feed in the speaker’s own preview.

Dual Streaming Mode

  • Host: streams landscape and portrait at the same time.
  • Not shown to speakers. Speakers can only choose Landscape or Portrait for their local preview.

Behavior notes

  • The host’s choice applies to the whole session.
  • A speaker’s “Preview orientation” choice is local only. It is remembered on that speaker’s device and never affects the broadcast or other speakers’ previews.
