How to Display a QR Code on Your Stream
The QR Code widget generates a customizable QR code on your stream. Viewers can scan it with their phones to visit a link, see your social profiles, or access any URL you set.
When to Use
- Sharing a link with your audience (website, social media, etc.)
- Directing viewers to a donation page
- Promoting a product or event page
- Any time you want viewers to quickly access a URL
Steps
Step 1: Add the QR Code Widget
- Open the Layers tab. Apps work on both scene types:
- Dynamic Scene: expand Apps & Widgets -> Add from marketplace
- Pro scene: click Add New Layer -> Apps & Widgets
- Search for “QR Code” and click to add it
Step 2: Set the QR Code Content
- In the settings panel, enter the Data (URL or text) the QR code should contain
- Default is
https://evmux.com- change this to your desired URL - The QR code updates in real-time as you type
Step 3: Add Your Logo (Optional)
- Click the image upload area in settings
- Upload your logo (PNG or JPEG, max 200px wide)
- The logo appears centered in the QR code
- Click Remove to clear the logo
Step 4: Customize the Style
Dot Styles:

Step 5: Position and Size
- Resize the QR code layer to an appropriate size
- Make it large enough for phone cameras to scan (recommended: at least 150x150px on screen)
- Position it in a corner or next to relevant content
Tips
- Keep the QR code scannable - don’t make it too small or place it over busy backgrounds
- Use contrasting colors (dark dots on light background) for best scanning reliability
- Adding a logo is great for branding but don’t make it too large or it may affect scanning
- The QR code can be updated dynamically via external messaging API
- Pair with a text overlay explaining what the QR code links to
