Recordings Management
The Recordings area of the Dashboard is where you find, download, trim, share and delete the recordings of your broadcast sessions.
Overview
From the Recordings area you can:
- Browse recordings by session and by broadcast date
- Download recordings
- Delete recordings
- Select several recordings at once
- Trim a recording
- See each recording’s length and file size
Session recordings table
Each session has a table with one row per broadcast:

| Star | Mark the broadcast as a favourite |
| Start | Date and time the broadcast started, for example “Dec 17, 2025” at “3:30 PM” |
| Length | Duration as hours:minutes:seconds, for example “1:23:45” |
| Size | Total size of all files, for example “1.5 GB” or “500 MB” |
| Files | Number of recording files in that broadcast |
Click a row to open the recordings of that broadcast. Long lists are split into pages.
Selecting several rows
Tick the checkboxes to select rows. A bulk-actions bar appears with the number of selected items and a Delete action. Deleting asks you to confirm by ticking: “I’m aware that selected recordings are going to be deleted”.
Starring
Click the star on a row to mark it as a favourite. Click again to remove the star.
Downloading several recordings
You can download several recordings in one go. A progress popup shows the download and lets you cancel it.
Actions on a single recording
Each recording has a ”…” menu. The items you see depend on the recording’s state.
Full recordings

| Open studio to continue upload | The recording is your own and its upload is not finished |
| Email Upload Link | The uploader has an email address and the upload is not finished |
| Finalize file | A local recording was partly uploaded and can be closed off manually |
| Download | The recording is ready and is not audio-only |
| Download Chat | The broadcast has a chat log |
| Download Transcription | A transcription (SRT) exists |
| Embed / Share | The recording can be embedded |
| Social Share (with a “New” badge) | Social sharing is available and the recording is ready. Opens the Social Share modal |
| Prepare Summerization For Shorts | Shorts summarisation is available and no summary exists yet |
| Generating Summerization… | A summary has been requested and is being prepared |
| Trim video | The recording is ready |
| Create Pre-Recorded Livestream | The recording is ready and your plan includes pre-recorded livestreams. See Broadcast a Past Recording |

Clips
Short clips have a shorter menu:

Video trimmer
Choose Trim video on a recording to open the trimmer. There you can:
- Set the start point
- Set the end point
- Preview the trimmed video
- Export the trimmed version
Deleting
Deleting a recording is permanent. evmux asks you to confirm by ticking: “I’m aware that selected recordings of this broadcast are going to be deleted”.
Best practices
- Download important recordings. Storage may have limits.
- Star the ones that matter so you can find them again.
- Trim when needed to remove unwanted parts.
- Check file sizes. Large files take longer to download.
- Delete old recordings to free up storage.
