Scene Transitions Reference
When you switch scenes, evmux can animate the change. Instead of uploading a video stinger, you can pick one of the built-in transitions from the Stinger / Transition picker. These transitions need no file and play the moment you switch.
Available transitions
| Transition | Duration | What it looks like |

| Default | 1 second | The current scene fades out and the next one fades in. Used when no stinger or transition is selected. |
| Cut | 0.3 seconds | Instant switch with no animation. |
| Fade Down | 1 second | The current scene fades while sliding down; the next scene fades in. |
| Fade Up | 1 second | The current scene fades while sliding up; the next scene fades in. |
| Roll In/Out | 1 second | The current scene rolls off screen and the next scene rolls in. |
| Zoom In/Out | 1 second | The current scene zooms out while the next scene zooms in. |
| Slide Down | 1 second | The current scene slides down off screen; the next scene slides in. |
| Slide Up | 1 second | The current scene slides up off screen; the next scene slides in. |
| Flip In/Out | 1 second | A 3D flip: the current scene flips away and the next scene flips into view. |
During a transition the outgoing scene animates on top of the incoming one, so viewers see the old scene leave and the new scene appear underneath.

When to use which
- Quick changes: use Cut or the Default fade for fast, unobtrusive scene switches.
- Polished look: Zoom and Slide give a smooth, professional feel.
- Dramatic effect: Flip grabs attention; use it sparingly.
- Consistency: stick to one transition style throughout a broadcast.
