Soundboard Panel

The Soundboard Panel provides quick access to sound effect pads for playing audio clips during broadcasts.

Location

  • Position: A section of the Music tab, in the left-side tabs panel (there is no separate Soundboard tab)
  • Access: Click the Music tab icon (speaker/sound icon)
  • Section Name: “Sound FX” (top section of the Music tab)
  • Note: Sound FX is NOT a separate tab. It is the top section of the Music tab

Sound Pads Grid

The panel displays 6 sound effect pads in a grid:

Pad Elements

Each pad shows:

  • Pad number (1-6)
  • Sound name (if assigned)
  • Visual indicator when playing
  • Duration (optional)

How to Use

Playing a Sound

  1. Open the Soundboard panel
  2. Click on any pad with a sound assigned
  3. Sound plays immediately
  4. Visual feedback shows the sound is playing

The bare number keys do nothing. The shortcuts always include Ctrl+Shift. They can be reassigned in Settings > Hotkeys.

Stop Playing Sound

  • Click the playing pad again
  • Or wait for the sound to finish
  • Some sounds may have a stop button

Managing Sounds

Assigning a Sound

  1. Right-click on an empty pad (or click edit)
  2. Select Upload Sound or Choose from Library
  3. Select an audio file
  4. The sound is assigned to that pad

Replacing a Sound

  1. Right-click on the pad
  2. Select Change Sound or Replace
  3. Choose a new audio file
  4. The old sound is replaced

Removing a Sound

  1. Right-click on the pad
  2. Select Remove or Clear
  3. The pad becomes empty

Renaming a Sound

  1. Right-click on the pad
  2. Select Rename or edit the label
  3. Enter a descriptive name
  4. Makes identification easier

Volume Control

Per-Pad Volume

  • Some setups allow individual pad volume
  • Right-click > Volume setting
  • Adjust relative to other sounds

Master Soundboard Volume

  • Control the overall sound-effects level with the soundboard’s own volume control
  • Find the “SFX” or “Soundboard” channel
  • Adjust the slider

Best Practices

  1. Organize by type - Group similar sounds
  2. Short clips - Quick, punchy sounds work best
  3. Normalize audio - Consistent volume levels
  4. Test volume - Balance with other audio sources
  5. Descriptive names - Know what each pad plays
  6. Don’t overuse - Sound effects lose impact if overused

Troubleshooting

Sound not playing?

  • Check if a sound is assigned to the pad
  • Verify the soundboard’s own volume is not at zero
  • Check volume levels
  • Try re-uploading the sound

Sound too loud/quiet?

  • Adjust the soundboard’s volume control
  • Re-normalize the audio file
  • Use per-pad volume if available

Wrong sound plays?

  • Check pad assignments
  • Verify you clicked the right pad
  • Rename pads for clarity

Can’t upload sound?

  • Check that the file format is supported
  • Reduce the file size if too large
  • Check upload permissions
