Generate Image (AI)

Generate Image uses AI (DALL-E) to create custom images from text descriptions. Create unique graphics, backgrounds, overlays, and virtual backgrounds for your broadcasts.

Overview

AI image generation is available for:

  • Graphics/Overlays
  • Virtual Backgrounds
  • Logos (with object generation)
  • Scene backgrounds

The Generate Image dialog

Text Input

  • Describe what you want to generate
  • Minimum 5 characters required
  • Prompt enhancement is only available for prompts up to about 500 characters

Options

  • Enhance prompt with AI - Improves your description before generating
  • Generate Object - Creates an object with a transparent background (not available on all accounts)

Results

  • Generated image preview
  • Download option
  • Use in production button

Generation Flow

  1. Enter a text description
  2. Optional: Enable prompt enhancement
  3. Optional: Enable object generation
  4. Click Generate
  5. Wait for the AI to create the image
  6. Preview the result
  7. Use it or regenerate

Prompt Enhancement

When enabled, the AI rewrites your prompt into a more detailed description before generating. The option is disabled when your prompt is longer than 500 characters.

Object Generation

Creates images with transparent backgrounds.

Use cases:

  • Logos
  • Icons
  • Overlay elements
  • Stickers

Credits

  • Each generation uses credits
  • The remaining credits are displayed as “Credits left: X”

Watermark

  • Free plans get a watermark on generated images
  • A “Remove watermark” upgrade option is offered

Where the image goes

  • Opened from the Virtual Background settings, the generated image is added to your virtual background library.
  • Opened from Graphics, it is added to your graphics/overlay library.

Good prompts include:

  • “A modern tech studio background with purple neon lights”
  • “Minimalist logo of a microphone with sound waves”
  • “Animated abstract shapes in blue and green gradient”

Image Specs

  • High resolution output
  • PNG format (with transparency for objects)
  • Optimized for streaming
  • Stored in your media assets

Best Practices

  1. Be specific - Detailed prompts get better results
  2. Include style - Mention the artistic style you want
  3. Describe colors - Specify color preferences
  4. Consider context - Think about how it fits your stream
  5. Iterate - Regenerate to explore variations

Errors

  • Network errors show a retry option
  • Running out of credits shows an upgrade prompt
  • Invalid prompts show guidance
