Video Trimmer

The Video Trimmer allows you to set start and end points for video and audio layers, controlling which portion of the media plays during your broadcast.

Overview

When you add a video or audio layer, you can trim it to play only a specific portion:

Set a custom start time
Set a custom end time
Preview the trimmed segment
Use a visual timeline with frame thumbnails

Opening the Trimmer

Select a video or audio layer
Click Video Trimmer in the layer toolbar
Drag the start and end handles, or enter exact times
Preview the playback
Click Done to apply

The trimmed range is saved with the layer, so the same portion plays every time the scene goes live.

The Timeline

The timeline shows frame-by-frame thumbnails of the video for reference.

Start handle - Drag to set the start point
End handle - Drag to set the end point
Trimmed region - Drag the middle to move both points while keeping the same length
Progress indicator - Shows the current playback position and moves during playback
Click the timeline to jump to that position

Time Input

For precise timing, use the steppers next to the timeline:

Hours (H)
Minutes (M)
Seconds (S)

Times are shown as MM:SS, or HH:MM:SS for media longer than an hour.

Playback Controls

Control	Function
Play/Pause	Toggle playback
Seek	Click the timeline to jump
Loop preview	Plays within the trimmed range

Loop and Auto-switch

Loop - Play the trimmed segment again from the start when it ends.
Auto-switch - When the video ends, switch automatically to a scene you choose. This is off by default.

Tab between time inputs
Escape to close

Best Practices

Preview before live - Always test trimmed segments
Allow buffer - Leave a small margin at the start and end
Check audio sync - Ensure audio aligns with the trim
Consider transitions - Account for fade in/out
