How to Run a Giveaway During Your Stream
The GiveAway widget lets you pick a random winner from your live comment audience. Participants enter by typing a hashtag, and the app spins to select a winner with confetti and sound effects.

Steps
Step 1: Add the GiveAway Widget
- Open the Layers tab. Apps work on both scene types:
- Dynamic Scene: expand Apps & Widgets -> Add from marketplace
- Pro scene: click Add New Layer -> Apps & Widgets
- Search for “GiveAway” and click to add it
Step 2: Configure the Hashtag
- In the settings panel, set the Hashtag (default: “prize”)
- The title automatically shows: “Type #prize in the comments to join!”
- You can customize both the hashtag and the title message
- Toggle Filter by Hashtag off if you want ALL commenters to participate
Step 3: Wait for Participants
- The widget shows a participant counter that updates every 7 seconds
- Viewers type the hashtag (e.g.,
#prize) in the live chat - Duplicate entries are automatically filtered (one entry per person per platform)
- Up to 2000 participants are supported
Step 4: Start the Giveaway
- Once you have enough participants, click “Start Giveaway!”
- The spin animation begins, cycling through participants
- The spin lasts for the configured duration (default: 15 seconds)
- A tick sound plays during the spin (if enabled)
Step 5: Winner Reveal
When the spin finishes:
- The winner’s name and avatar are displayed
- Their social platform icon (YouTube, Twitch, etc.) appears
- Confetti explodes with celebration sounds (if enabled)
- The original comment text is shown
Step 6: Run Another Round (Optional)
- Click “Reset Giveaway” to clear the winner
- The widget returns to participant collection mode
- Click “Start Giveaway!” again for a new spin

Tips
- Announce the hashtag clearly before starting - show the widget on screen so viewers can see it
- Wait 30-60 seconds for participants to enter before spinning
- Use a unique hashtag to avoid confusion with other chat messages
- Spin Time of 10-20 seconds creates good suspense without being too long
- If doing multiple rounds, reset between each one
- Border Radius at 15-20px gives a nice rounded look
