Evmux Overview

Evmux is a professional web-based live streaming production platform. It enables you to create, manage, and broadcast live video content to multiple social media platforms simultaneously.

What is Evmux?

Evmux is similar to desktop applications like OBS Studio, but runs entirely in your web browser. It provides:

  • Live video production with multiple cameras, screen sharing, and media sources
  • Real-time compositing using scenes and layers
  • Multi-platform broadcasting to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, LinkedIn, TikTok, and more
  • Professional graphics including banners, lower-thirds, and animated captions
  • Guest management for remote participants who join from their browser
  • AI-assisted production for automated scene control and content generation

Being on the scene is what puts you on air — video AND audio

This is the rule everything else in evmux hangs off, and the one most often misunderstood:

A participant is only seen AND HEARD by your viewers while they are on the current scene. Joining the studio is not the same as being on air. Someone who is in the studio but not on the scene is “offstage”: your viewers neither see nor hear them, no matter that their microphone is unmuted.

So there is no audio-only participant. If you want a contributor to be heard — a commentator, an interpreter, someone off camera — they still have to be added to the scene. If you don’t want them visible, make their layer small, place it off to the side, or hide it behind another layer; but they must be on the scene to be audible.

The Listen Offstage Feeds toggle is only about what YOU hear in the studio while producing. It never changes what goes out: offstage people stay inaudible to viewers whether that toggle is on or off.
