How to Show Buy Me a Coffee Alerts and a Tip QR Code
The buymeacoffee widget connects your Buy Me a Coffee page to the stream. When someone buys you a coffee, an alert pops up on the scene, and a small badge with your page address stays on screen. You can also put a QR code on the scene so viewers can scan it with their phone and tip you without typing anything.
Before You Start
You need a Buy Me a Coffee account. In its Stream alerts settings, copy your personal
stream alert URL. It starts with https://studio.buymeacoffee.com/stream-alert/ and
contains a key that identifies your account, so keep it private.
Steps
Step 1: Add the Widget
- Open the Layers tab. Apps work on both scene types:
- Dynamic Scene: expand Apps & Widgets -> Add from marketplace
- Pro scene: click Add New Layer -> Apps & Widgets
- Search for buymeacoffee and click the card, then click Add to Scene

Step 2: Paste Your Stream Alert URL
The widget covers the scene as a transparent layer and shows a buymeacoffee.com/yourname badge at the bottom. Its settings open on the left.

- Paste your stream alert URL into the BuyMeCoffe Url field.
- The badge updates to your page name, and alerts from your supporters now appear on the scene when they arrive.
Step 3: Add a QR Code (Optional)
Click Add QR To Stage. A QR code layer pointing at your Buy Me a Coffee page is added to the scene. Move and resize it like any layer, and keep it big enough to scan from a phone.
Step 4: Fine-Tune on Buy Me a Coffee
Open BuyMeCoffee settings opens your Buy Me a Coffee stream alert settings in a new tab, where you choose the alert’s look, sound and duration. The widget shows whatever you set there. The here link under it leads to Buy Me a Coffee’s setup guide.
Tips
- Test with a small tip from another account before the show so you know how the alert looks and sounds.
- Put the QR code near the badge so viewers connect the two.
- Mention the page out loud when the QR code is on screen. Viewers rarely notice it on their own.
