How to Run a Live Poll with the Polls Widget
The Polls widget lets you create interactive polls during your livestream. Your audience can vote via a link or by typing hashtags in the comments.
When to Use
- Asking your audience a question during a live show
- Letting viewers vote on topics, choices, or decisions
- Adding interactive engagement to your broadcast
Steps
Step 1: Add the Polls Widget
- Open the Layers tab. Apps work on both scene types:
- Dynamic Scene: expand Apps & Widgets -> Add from marketplace
- Pro scene: click Add New Layer -> Apps & Widgets
- Search for “Polls” and click to add it
Step 2: Set Up Your Poll Options
- In the settings panel, you’ll see the default 5 options (Option A through E)
- Edit option names - click each option to rename it (e.g., “Pizza”, “Burgers”, “Sushi”)
- Edit hashtags - set the hashtag for each option (e.g., “pizza”, “burgers”, “sushi”)
- Change colors - customize the color for each option
- Add or remove options as needed
Step 3: Configure Hashtag Voting
When Hashtag Voting is enabled (on by default):
- Viewers type the hashtag in live comments to vote (e.g.,
#pizza) - Votes are counted automatically from comments
- Each viewer gets one vote
Step 4: Share the Voting Link
- Click Copy voting link in the settings panel
- Share this link with your audience (in chat, on screen, etc.)
- Optionally click Add QR code to scene to display a scannable QR code
Step 5: Choose a Design Theme
Select from 10 visual themes to match your stream style:

Step 6: Customize Appearance

Step 7: Manage the Poll Live

Tips
- Enable hashtag voting for the most engagement - viewers just type in chat
- Show the poll early so viewers have time to vote
- Use a clear title so viewers understand the question
- Pick a theme that contrasts well with your scene
- The poll updates in real-time - results appear as votes come in
