How to Stream to Instagram

Requirements

• An Instagram Business or Creator account with live streaming enabled.

Steps

1. Open your Destinations settings — the Destinations button at the top-right of the Studio (on mobile: main menu / burger icon → Destinations). You can also open it from the Dashboard.
2. Click the + (Add) button and choose Instagram.
3. Follow the connection steps to authorize your account.
4. Click Go Live in evmux.
5. Then click Go Live in Instagram studio as well. Going live in evmux only sends your stream to Instagram — it does not publish it. Your viewers see nothing until you press Go Live in Instagram studio.

The step people miss

Stopping after step 4. It’s easy to click Go Live in evmux, see everything running normally, and assume you’re broadcasting — but the stream isn’t published to viewers until you also press Go Live in Instagram studio. Always finish step 5.
