Run a Long Broadcast (24+ hours)
Short answer
Evmux does not support a single broadcast longer than 10 hours on any plan. Every account has a per-broadcast time cap set by its plan tier, and the studio stops the broadcast automatically when that cap is reached. There is no setting to override it.
To run a stream of 24+ hours, chain sequential broadcasts: end one before its cap and start the next immediately.

Also check your monthly broadcast cap. A 24-hour stream uses 24 of your monthly broadcast hours. The 4,500 hours per month on Business Pro is plenty, but on lower tiers you will burn through the cap fast.
How to chain broadcasts

Plan ahead. Find your plan’s per-broadcast limit in the table above. Schedule a brief handoff every N hours, where N is just under the cap (for example every 9 hours on Business Pro).

Watch for the warning notifications. Evmux notifies you 30 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 seconds before the auto-stop.

End the current broadcast manually before the cap. Click End Stream in the go-live panel. Do not let the auto-stop trigger; you want to control the transition.

Start a new broadcast immediately. Click Go Live again. Destinations stay configured, so you do not have to re-add them. Initialization typically takes 10 to 30 seconds.
What happens to viewers during the handoff
- YouTube / Facebook / LinkedIn: each broadcast creates a new live stream URL on the platform. Viewers of the previous stream are disconnected and need a fresh link. The stored VOD/archive is split into separate videos.
- Custom RTMP / Twitch: depends on the platform. Many treat the reconnect as a brief glitch and keep the same stream URL, but verify with your destination before relying on this.
- Evmux Player: the embedded player resumes on the new broadcast automatically as long as the embed code points at the same channel.
Workarounds people sometimes ask about (and why they don’t work)
- “Can I run two 12-hour broadcasts back-to-back without a gap?” No. The auto-stop introduces a clean break. You can minimize the gap by starting the next broadcast within seconds, but it is not zero.
- “Can I upgrade in the middle of a broadcast to extend the limit?” Plan capabilities are read when the broadcast starts. An upgrade mid-stream will not extend the current broadcast’s cap.
- “Can I disable the auto-stop?” No. There is no setting to turn it off.
- “Will recording continue if my plan’s recording cap is shorter than my broadcast cap?” On the Free plan the recording stops while the livestream keeps running. The studio shows the limit next to the Recording checkbox: “Max: 7 minutes on the free plan”. The recording may end a little after that figure, never before it. On all paid plans recording is unlimited per session.
